Terms of Service

1. The Service

FinnAdvisor is an AI-powered tool that analyses Finnish legal situations for immigrants and foreign nationals living in or moving to Finland. By submitting a case description, you receive structured analysis referencing applicable Finnish law, relevant precedents from the Supreme Administrative Court (KHO) and Supreme Court (KKO), and suggested next steps.

The service covers case types including immigration (Migri), population registration (DVV), deportation, Kela benefits, employment discrimination, housing, custody, criminal proceedings, compensation claims, and administrative court appeals.

By accessing or using FinnAdvisor you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years old to use FinnAdvisor. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.

You are permitted to hold one account per person. Accounts must not be shared or transferred. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.

Authentication is passwordless. We send a one-time magic link to your email address each time you sign in. You are responsible for maintaining the security of access to your email account.

3. Plans and Pricing

FinnAdvisor is available on the following plans:

Plan limits reset at the start of each calendar month. Unused analyses do not carry over. FinnAdvisor reserves the right to update pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

4. Payment and Billing

Payments for paid plans are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis on or around the date you first subscribed.

FinnAdvisor does not store your payment card details. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe and subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

All prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT where required by Finnish tax law. A VAT invoice is available on request.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan.

Refund policy: We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused analyses. If you cancel mid-month you will retain access to your paid plan features until the billing period ends.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at support@finnadvisor.fi within 14 days of the charge and we will investigate.

6. User Obligations

By using FinnAdvisor you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when describing your legal situation. The quality of the AI analysis depends on the accuracy of the facts you provide.
• Use the service for lawful purposes only and in compliance with applicable Finnish and EU law.
• Maintain one account per person; account sharing or resale is not permitted under the Free or Basic plan.
• Not attempt to circumvent plan limits through technical means, multiple accounts, or any other method.
• Not use the service to generate content that could constitute harassment, fraud, or any other illegal act.
• Not scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying legal rules engine, prompts, or model behaviour.

FinnAdvisor reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these obligations.

7. Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain all rights to the case descriptions and information you submit to FinnAdvisor. By submitting content you grant FinnAdvisor a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of generating your analysis. We do not claim ownership of your case data.

FinnAdvisor content

The FinnAdvisor platform, including its user interface, rules engine, analysis templates, and all associated software, is the property of FinnAdvisor and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without express written permission.

AI-generated output

The analysis generated in response to your case description is provided for your personal use. You may save, print, and share it for the purpose of understanding or pursuing your own legal situation. You may not resell or commercially redistribute AI-generated analysis.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

No legal advice

FinnAdvisor provides general legal information only. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of the service. Always verify legal citations on finlex.fi before relying on them formally, and consult a licensed Finnish attorney (asianajaja/lakimies) before making decisions with legal consequences.

Service provided "as is"

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. Finnish law and administrative practice change frequently; analysis may not reflect the most recent legal developments.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FinnAdvisor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on the service, including any decisions you make based on AI-generated analysis. FinnAdvisor's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the three months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by FinnAdvisor's negligence or wilful misconduct, to the extent such limitation is prohibited by Finnish law.

9. Termination

You may stop using FinnAdvisor and delete your account at any time by contacting support@finnadvisor.fi.

FinnAdvisor may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your account is involved in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice of service discontinuation where practicable.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will do so.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Finnish courts, unless EU consumer protection law provides you with mandatory rights in your country of residence.

If you are a consumer residing in an EU member state, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply.
