Who runs FinnAdvisor
An independent service for people dealing with Finnish authorities. Not affiliated with Migri, Kela, DVV, or any government body.
What we store
Your email, a usage count, a session token and your plan status — stored in Google Cloud in Finland (europe-north1), with encrypted daily backups in the same region, each kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. A case is saved to your account only when you buy Guided for it: its text is encrypted before it is stored; its type, authority, deadline and cited laws are not. An analysis that is not saved is kept only as an encrypted copy for 24 hours. A copy of your analyses stays in your browser on this device until you delete the case or your account; signing out does not remove it.
What we never store
No payment card numbers, and no location data.
How the AI works
Analysis is generated by Anthropic's Claude model on Google Cloud (Vertex AI), in the European Union. Your case text is sent to it in readable form, because that is how an analysis is made. Google, which runs the model, does not retain prompts or outputs after the analysis is returned; a prompt that Google's safety systems flag as potential abuse may be kept for up to 90 days, in the EU. Anthropic, which makes the model, has no access to it. Your content is never used to train models. Sensitive information is processed only with your separate consent, and information about criminal offences cannot be analysed.
How long we keep data
Session data: 30 days. Usage counters: the free-analysis counter 60 days; a Guided case's counters are kept with the case. The free analysis itself is one per account every 7 days; the 7-day window is kept as a key that expires with it. Saved cases: until you delete them; while a Guided subscription of yours is running or paid up, they are not deleted for inactivity; after your last paid period, they are deleted 6 months after your last sign-in or, if later, the end of that period, with an email at 5 months and never earlier than a month after it; accounts that have never paid: 1 month after the last sign-in, without an email. Analyses that are not saved: an encrypted copy for 24 hours. Email & account: until you ask us to delete it.

Access, correct, export, or delete your data anytime. We reply within 30 days, free of charge.
Security
Encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). What you write and what we write for you — your case text, the analysis, your messages, uploaded documents and your email address — is encrypted by FinnAdvisor before it is stored, and Google Cloud encrypts stored data again beneath it. Not encrypted: your plan, the language you chose, consent and account timestamps, case identifiers, usage counters, your email preferences and, for each case, its type, the authority, the deadline and the laws and precedents matched — they show what kind of matter a case is, never your narrative, documents or chat. The keys your data is stored under are derived from a pseudonym, not from your email address. Sign-in by magic link, HttpOnly cookies. Stored data is kept in Finland (Google Cloud, europe-north1); to produce an analysis, the AI provider processes your text in readable form.
